Bamboo Bread Slicer Homemade Loaf Review

Works as advertised, easy to store and well made. It can be slightly smaller to accommodate smaller loaves of bread and the holder doesn't hold the side so they slide inwards when slicing the bread if the loaf is smaller than the area. If there was a way to adjust the sides of each loaf maybe this would be a better product and would prevent the sides from collapsing when slicing.

I am very satisfied with this food slicer. It's big and very durable, just what I needed. I recently upgraded my bread maker and my loaf is much larger than my previous bread maker. My old food slicer was painful to use and flimsy compared to this lovely machine. It folds, so I put it on one of my counters next to the bread maker. I especially love the crumb trap, no more mess! This is a great product.

I was really excited to try this stuff considering I hand cut my bread and I do it horribly. After opening the box, installing and cutting for the first time, one side of the bamboo fell off. I attempted to reinsert the nails to replant them to make another cut. On the second cut, the first side AND the other side fell apart. WASTE OF MONEY! Save money and buy something else.

Yes, this product is durable. But please don't confuse it with a synonym for "well done". You want clean, even, even slices. With this slicer, you will not achieve this goal EASILY. The reason for this is that the slots where the bread knife is meant to be inserted do not line up with the slots on the opposite side. These slots are not the same size or spacing.

I would say it works, but there are certainly cheaper and better solutions. I love that it folds and comes in different thicknesses, but I still find it difficult to cut bread out of a breadmaker and I think even the thinnest slice is still too thick. I feel it was overpriced due to the popularity. Pandemic as seller's website lists it as $10 cheaper but conveniently says it's "out of stock". I'd say buy it if you're not as desperate as I am.

I wanted something small and simple and it's perfect! I only cut one or two pieces at a time, so mismatched guides are not a problem for me. It fits my compact Cuisinart perfectly in length and width, but the guides are a little short and you have to look at the first inch, but in size they can't be longer to fold it the way it does. I was so excited to get this because I get horribly even slices when slicing homemade bread. This might work on a wide loaf, but not on a regular loaf. The bread kept moving and was difficult to hold and cut at the same time. You will need a very long bread knife (more expensive) to allow the knife to reach and connect both sides of the slots. I've been making my own bread for over fifty years and finally settled on a cutting guide. While I'm certainly getting smoother discs with this product, there are a few design flaws that could be improved. First, the spacing is uneven. Assuming you can use one end for thick slices, get medium slices with medium guides, and thin slices with the opposite end, the width of the guides will be uneven within each thick/medium/thin pitch.
