Yes, this product is durable. But please don't confuse it with a synonym for "well done". You want clean, even, even slices. With this slicer, you will not achieve this goal EASILY. The reason for this is that the slots where the bread knife is meant to be inserted do not line up with the slots on the opposite side. These slots are not the same size or spacing.
