Exhaust Type Double Check Jeep First

Will not fit my 2000 Wrangler TJ Sport. My catalytic converter uses a 2.5" clamp instead of 2 bolts to attach it to the muffler. Check before ordering. Does your exhaust system use 2 bolts or a clip to connect the muffler to the catalytic converter? Part #51313 (2 muffler bolts) to catalytic converter): 2001-2006 (some 2000's may use this. Mine didn't use this) Part #51312 (2.5" exhaust clamp from muffler to catalytic converter): 1996-1999 ( Some 2000 can use this. mine used)

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Exceeded expectations for my TJ

After reviewing various catback exhaust systems on my Jeep TJ, I settled on this system for the best value for money to meet my desired goals, ease of installation, sound , performance and overall rating to achieve. Although I have Banks Torque Pipe headers, I originally gravitated towards Borla even though it was more expensive. The sound after all this was installed dispelled all hopes for fuel economy :) Easy installation of a quality kit. Great tone and exhaust sound without being too loud.

Pros
  • Sleek design

Installation and sound are best at Cat-Back Systems

Item as described. Installation was very easy, about 2 hours, simply cutting off the old system with a pneumatic grinder. I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 l6 with no lift and everything mounts with no problems. Note that a lift kit can vary and look at the front of your muffler on the cat convector and see if it is connected with screws or a clip as this is included in different kits when ordered. Read reviews as it will make installation easier. The sound is excellent, not loud, not hoarse. You

Quality Cat-back Exhaust

Jeep: 1997 Wrangler TJ Engine: 2.5L Easy to install on a newly installed FlowMaster header. All tubes easily enter desired ends. The intake is based on a standard 2.25" downpipe and catalytic converter, and the exhaust is a 2.5" port. The steel seems solid and I don't think it should rust. The case is more difficult than I expected, no critic, just an observation. I had to rotate the muffler body a bit to avoid articulating the passenger's rear upper arm. This is an adaptation to my Jeep andโ€ฆ

Bear Aftermarket Kit I've Ever Installed

This kit was a pleasure to install. Banks did a great job putting together great instructions and a quality kit that didn't lack anything. When it comes to aftermarket parts, you will often find that certain OEM parts are reused for cost or other reasons. But everything in this kit speaks volumes for the end user, from the packaging and accessories to the instructions and the parts themselves. The sound is noticeably more aggressive but not overbearing. There is no street drone at all. I justโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Also for 2000 TJ made before January 2000!

Overall, I love every Banks product I've bought, including the monster exhaust pipes for the other two cars. However, I was a bit disappointed when I got it. Other kits I've used have worked in under an hour; This kit took 3 hours to complete due to poor fit. First, check your vehicle's catalytic converter type. If the cat has a flange connection, kit 51313 MUST be used Kit 51312 is a straight tube with U clamp. Note that pics 51312 and 51313 show one exhaust pipe but both kits are two pieceโ€ฆ
