Is working! Low Cost Baofeng Charging Station USB Cable

Update: I tested again after draining the battery to 7.4V. The charger put out 0.5A (500mA). The voltage was still at the lower limit. Upgrading my rating to 5 stars! Original: Works as advertised but charges slightly slower than the original wall charger. The output voltage was measured at 9.23V (compared to 9.68V from the original wall charger). The output current when charging the UV-82 or UV-5R was between 0.36 and 0.45 A (both batteries were discharged to 7.7 V). That said, it's still good

The charger holds the radio very well and charges via the USB plug

I could not find a native charger for my UV-82 radio so I looked for this one and found it where you can have one Use standard 10V (110V) outlet to connect this charger, or you can use the included USB cable, making it very versatile. I placed a fully discharged UV-82 radio in the mount and plugged it into a 2A USB charger. Now it took about 12 hours to fully charge the radio, but I feel like this isn't much different than the original home charger. This is a great addition if you have a lot of

Worth the money just for the laughs!

This is classic Chinese quality control LOL! The standard Baofeng UV-5R does not fit in this "loading" base. However, I'm keeping this as the USB cable outputs 9 volts and has a 5.45mm plug that fits perfectly into the standard Baofeng charging station and works (9 volts is close enough to 10 volts I think, to make it work). I ordered this for two reasons: 1# Mirkit and Abbere's BL-5L 3800mAh Straight Battery Charging Cable with 2.5mm plug is wonky at best. They don't fit well in the battery…

Superb USB charging cable with indicator light

Bought 2 of these for my Baofeng UV-82HP. One for use, one for storage. The cable is well made and has a green power light when plugged in, red when charging and green when the battery is fully charged. I also bought a BTECH Baofeng USB charging cable for my UV-5R variants, it only has a red power light. I use the built-in American B-Meter X-DRAGON Digital Multimeter ($11 at Revain). I use a wall USB cube, I plug in X-Dragon (which shows the charging voltage and current). Then this cable to a…

Great alternative to the UV-82 charger!

Direct 12V car charger does not step down to the 10V output required by the charging station (which further downshifts to 8V for the battery). Since most 12v charging systems tend to run at 13-14v, a direct 12v charger will disable circuit protection in the charging station (or, judging by some other reviews, may overheat it). I bought this USB charger as an alternative to the direct 12v car charger cable that came with my radio (which didn't work). Paired with a USB car charger (or a USB wall…
