Buy a size or two larger. I bought an XL for my son and it doesn't fit in any way other than pinching in my hands and then my head. Good luck trying to get rid of it. In general, the shirt would be great if it would fit.

I bought this shirt for my son's pirate costume and I was pleasantly surprised. It fits him well and goes well with the coat he will be wearing. Since it's listed as a Renaissance costume, my only comment is that it's clearly synthetic. If you're looking for authenticity, this may not work.

A 7.5 year old boy wearing medium sized children's clothing and weighing about 60 pounds fits the shirt perfectly! The sleeves are long and loose, and the cuff around the wrist is tapered for a renaissance look. But the cut in the chest area is too big. I may have to figure out how to close it or add laces to tie it more tightly around his neck. It will look great as part of a pirate costume.
