Cheap Chinese Imitations

These are very coarse Chinese chisels, straight out of the box they wouldn't go more than 1/8 inch deep in aspen (which is fairly soft wood). However, a few minutes with a Dremel with a grinding wheel sharpened them enough for my purpose. If you drill more than a few holes, especially in hardwood, I would steer clear!

Pros
  • STRENGTH: Each drill is made of high quality steel. This high-quality steel will last longer and ensure you're ready to go when you need the right woodworking bit. Includes a sturdy wooden box for safe storage of all bits.
Cons
  • Doubtful

Not sharp! on drills

The first drill I used was a 1 1/8 inch and it was dull! I'm using a drill press and the drill bit won't cut. When I look at the chisel I can clearly see that the cutting edge is not sharp. I am extremely disappointed! I want to say that I drill plywood and pine boards like I make birdhouses. I will return this set. I do NOT recommend. I didn't buy the cheapest set. I thought I'd buy a decent set. I know I can get a $40 set from Home Depot.

Pros
  • PRECISION: sharpened for intensive use and easy to resharpen. Can enlarge existing holes very easily and drill circles of different sizes. The hex shank ensures these bits are held securely in your drill press or power drill.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Value for money power tool parts and accessories

I bought this set because I needed a bit but figured why not buy the full set right away. The bits are good quality, very sharp and should survive any project I might have. The box is handy for storing bits, but I have a few negatives. The bit size is stamped on each bit, but some are difficult to read as the stamp is not well finished. The box is cheaply made and the latches seem to break at any moment. The retention system to protect each bit can be improved. So you get a quality racket in a…
