Wrong direction of use with my chick watering system.

I bought this pump because it was recommended for water circulation in my chicken coop. It wasn't enough time and it overheated very quickly. It was suggested to place it on the outside of the water barrel but that might be the problem. However, since our chickens drink water, I didn't want it put in there.

0.5 gpm through standard 2.5x10 " filter

When they say NOT self-priming, they mean it. Zero flow when there are full bubbles in the suction line or pump, but after you release the air, the pump works fine! I get a flow rate of 1/2 GPM with a standard 2.5 x 10" filter on the outlet. Suitable for my aquarium. Very quiet, barely audible when it's on or off, there's almost no sound. Make sure the pump is at its lowest point so the bubbles can be removed for it to start working.

  • Very fast delivery

Good Price Small DIY Pool Solar Heater Pump

I wanted an inexpensive 2 to 5 GPM pump (this one is 2 GPM) to pump the pool water through the sprinkler pipe for the homemade solar pool heater. I tested this to pump through a 500ft irrigation pipe and it works fine. It's a bit slower than I wanted, but for the price I could just buy another one and run two pumps. I'm happy with that. I want the brass fittings to connect to the 1/2 inch irrigation hose. They are smaller so I had to buy some parts from the HW store. Otherwise the pump works…

Loud buzzing from the power supply, unacceptable!

Power supplies SHOULD NEVER make that much noise. Buzz means lost connection or bad soldering, which means sparking, which means heating. I expect a fire any day now. UPDATE: This device has actually stopped working. After disconnecting and opening the power transformer (the end of the cable with a large plug), all the components burned out. Luckily it failed due to an open circuit, not a short! UPDATE #2: Two days after his death while waiting for a replacement pump (not another piece of…

The 30W panel is ideal. My installation

Using this pump for a solar pool heater. Powered by Renogy 30W solar panel. I tried a 10w panel and it worked, but slowly. The 30W panel is ideal. My setup: 200 feet of 1/2 inch irrigation hose in a 4 by 4 foot box. Use 1/2 inch PVC pipe from the pool to the garden hose. The garden hose goes to the pump and then to the heater. From the heater I have a garden hose back to the pool and then back to the PVC pool. I didn't use the pool pump as I only run it at night. I have valves to slow the flow…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

If you're looking for a lightweight, ready-to-use pump that you can use right away, this is the one for you. The beginning is the hardest part but once it starts there seems to be a good FLOW. They stated it wasn't a primer so shame on you if you complain about it. I use it to pump aquarium water through a UV filter. Slide about 4 feet stroke. The pump works and feels warm but not hot. I couldn't find a cheaper pump that has an inlet and outlet port, most of these are plug in pumps that only…

Swimming Pool Solar Water Heater Pump

I bought this unit to run water through my solar panel that we use to heat our 15,000 gallon above ground pool. The solar panel is 12 3/4" diameter, 6' long copper tubing connected to form a heat sink. The water flows by gravity to the pump, then the pump pushes the water through the solar panel and back into the pool with it a stroke of about 4ft. I have a timer so it only runs when the sun heats up the solar panel. I worked on this for 70 days this summer and it did exactly what I wanted…

Great for stirring wort at mash temperature

I bought this for stirring wort for brewing. Works great but seems to cavitate to boiling point. As I thought about it, I expected it to happen. My decision. I don't worry about recycling when I'm in a boil. It doesn't really make much sense since a boil is usually strong enough to circulate on its own! As for people's concerns about "harmful" chemicals; Spikes can be easily edited to reduce/minimize any abduction that can be leached (Google is your friend when it comes to doing this). In fact,
