only lasted 1 month

failed 1 month after installation. The stereo is powered when the button is off. The new switch fixed everything. Defect part :(

Pros
  • automotive
Cons
  • hard to tell

A little preventive maintenance will help avoid unnecessary downtime.

This is a starting device for starting the engine. Without you have to get out and push :( Only downside is having to pull out the handlebars to get at the old switch and put the new one in. My baby started purring again.

Pros
  • Ignition starter
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others

Works perfectly - 91 VW Passat

To install the switch you need to use a puller at the end of the steering column, and a good one that doesn't slip off because the edge is too small. You'll need to remove the top so you can remove the switch and column latch so you can access the small screw that holds it. It is from an OEM and works perfectly. After that, no problems either connecting or starting the machine.

Pros
  • Switch
Cons
  • There are defects

High quality German switch for Mk3 Jetta!

When my friend and I picked up his 'brand new' 1998 Jetta TDI (with moon travel on the clock.), we were horrified to find that he regularly has starting problems. The starter was replaced to no avail and we slowly learned that it was a horribly cracked starter switch. a whole day of routine work. There are many difficult ways to get to the switch, including steering wheel pullers and removing parts around the airbag. Not the easiest way. Other people have cut out the wiring harnesses and added…

Pros
  • Switches and Relays
Cons
  • I don't have a huge aversion to it, everything is fine
