Connected straight away, but only lasted 2 1/2 years.

Overall, the part worked great and solved my problem with the original switch. But the problem is that one day it just stopped turning off my car and the radio kept working and then my AC fan didn't work and neither did my signals. So it will work for a while, but it's not a permanent switch.

Pros
  • Corresponds to the original parts in form, fit and function
Cons
  • Nothing wrong

Works great on B5 Passat

Fits and works perfectly on 2000 B5 Passat. My original only got a little wobbly because the contacts went bad after many, many miles. This part appears to be of the same quality and weight as the original replacement part. If that doesn't take 18 years I'll try to remember to come back here and let you know.

Pros
  • 100% mechanically and electrically tested
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other parts

Works perfectly! for switch

My old switch spring on my '99 Passat broke causing the brake lights to come on, A/C not working etc. It was an easy fix, just remove the top cover and bottom of the handlebars, pull the handlebars all the way out, flip the switch and off you go! Took me about 10 minutes or less - I felt the spring tension immediately - and the wrench returns to the working position with no problem!

Pros
  • High quality materials including corrosion resistant contacts
Cons
  • Some trouble
