Great bell, easy to assemble

Great bell with old DaaRiingRiing sound. I bought this because I occasionally ride hiking and biking trails and wanted a better warning of pedestrians of an approaching bike. I never rush past pedestrians, it's not only unsafe but also very rude. And as a walker, I don't like the "To your left!" warning command. It's much nicer and easier to listen. And by the familiar sound, almost all pedestrians recognize the sound of a bicycle approaching from behind. Great call and easy to install. I love…

Hard wearing, easy to assemble and gives the bike a finished look

(Note: my 13 year old daughter was instrumental in writing this review). 30 seconds. When I dropped the bike to the ground, the bell didn't rattle. Compared to another bell we bought (twice) this one held up really well, the bell didn't snag on anything. The bell has not rusted or lost its luster despite standing in the rain for two nights during a tropical storm. The ring is clear and far reaching and has saved my brother from colliding with me many times. :-)

Only for right-hand drive!

This is not the same as the bell I bought 3 years ago. It's right hand drive only. The previous version was not installed on any site. My 3 speed shifter is right hand mounted (like most) so there is no room for it due to the cable and rotary shifter. I installed on the left side where I had the previous model and now the lever is in an awkward position, difficult to reach because the lever is pointing down. Not up. I also noticed that the ringer was very muffled, only to find that you have to…

Not bad, if not expensive, but then broken.

Quite loud and has a classic sound which I like. I fit my big handlebars, tighten well and never slipped. The bell seems to loosen and twist which means the bell moves every few days so it rings every time I hit a bump. Another thing is that this bell is quite large and requires some thumbroom to get in there and swipe the bell. If handlebar real estate is intimidating, this is a tough fit. I eventually found a seat, but that means I have to cross my right hand to make a call on the left…
