money well spent. fits whole tripods

Too big for travel or camping unless you check it. But it's an incredibly stable, solid and well-made tripod. I did way too much research with this and basically looked at all the benros. Periscopic necklocks lock securely and without recoil.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

Very stable and reconfigurable tripod

This is a good replacement for my last tripod. I've had a wide variety of configurations, from desktop to monopods and horizontal mounts. However, this listing is larger than the one I'm replacing at about the same price.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Fresh OOB first impression

Like many photographers, I've accumulated a few tripods over the years. I have long been a fan of M and S brand tripods. This is my first experience with arrow tripods. A bit expensive to be honest but in the end I think it's a good price. The overall construction and finishes are good. My only negative comment is how the tripods tilt/swivel down for the boom tilt feature. The stops that coincide when the locking knob is tightened could be spaced closer together, I think. The monopod functionโ€ฆ

Amazing: tripod + monopod + selfie stick

This tripod (comes without a head) is amazing and very versatile for travel, in the picture you see a tripod with one foot less because it can work as a monopod can , it is a monopod which (with some extra things) can work as a high quality carbon selfie stick which can support DSLR. My usual setup is a Gitso GH1780QR head tripod (there are better options but this head is the one I had in my old tripod and I'm using it again) The screw that the head attaches to is 3/8". . Head Height: 95mmโ€ฆ

Lots of compromises

So a tripod really has "one jobโ€ โ€“ to hold the camera steady so you can take nice, clear shots. Unfortunately, this tripod is not very rigid and the main stand design has more disadvantages. The pivoting and articulating center column is a great feature when done well, but unfortunately it only contributes to less stability. But yeah, it's not very light (compared to a travel tripod) and not very stiff for this price range. . I was surprised/shocked at how easy it was to get the legs to lean by

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Better than competitor Manfrotto

This Benro SystemGo Plus Travel Aluminum Tripod (FGP28A) was bought for travel. It was marked "used like new" by a Revain third party called VIDEO CAMERA CENTER for $150 ($50 less than a new tripod). As advertised, this FGP28A arrived in 'as new' condition as if it had never been touched - new packaging with tags attached etc. Came bagged in a well made padded case with pockets containing leg spikes and a shoulder strap. I have Gitzo 5543XL, Induro 404XL, Sirui P-424SR and now FGP28A. I haveโ€ฆ
