It was exactly what I wanted for a bulky winter.

This was exactly what I wanted for the bulky winter hats I made for my friends. It turned out well for me and thank you for the quality yarn my family has used for decades.

  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Expensive

Nice color! best in Knitting & Crochet

Without getting too political, I made the prettiest hats for January's Women's March. I made them for my whole group and everyone around us was asking where they are from all day because the color was so beautiful. Even among other pink hats, ours stood out. No matter what you use this yarn for, I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Gauge: 11 sts & 14 rows on 8mm needles (US 11)
Cons
  • Off fashion

A great budget option for beginners Knit a blanket

This was my first experience of knitting a blanket. I chose this yarn because it was bulky and fairly budget friendly (about $3-4 per skein at craft stores, FYI). The quilt turned out really well! It's warm and quite soft. I cast on 180 stitches and use 4 colored balls per block. As you can see, the ceiling is quite large - our bed is just royal for the size. The only complaint I have is that the yarn is a bit frizzy and feels slightly different for each color. Cream is the softest. The gray is

red-orange instead of hot pink AND faded denim almost navy blue

The color was called Hot Pink and that's what it looks like in the picture. However, it is actually red with hints of orange. Luckily I can use it as it combines well with other yarns I have. But I still need a pink color for the original project. And what is called faded denim is almost navy blue. 5 or 6, I look at the expected number of stitches and rows in a 4 inch square. If it's not listed in the ad I calculate the yards per ounce and compare that to whatever yarn I have or whatever.

Pros
  • Bernat Softee Chunky is a super dense yarn that is ideal for knitting and crocheting into clothing, accessories and home décor.
