I have an Onkyo TX-577 and this remote control works. It's beautifully designed, and the layout and color of the buttons make it easy to identify specific controls.

Sold as a replacement for the Onkyo RC-765M remote control. However, it doesn't have a mute button (probably the most used button). Very disappointed.

This remote went straight to my Onkyo TX-NR414 receiver. The only thing it doesn't have is the GAME button which was on the original remote. The volume button on the original remote control RC-834M started to fail. So this replacement saves me some worries in the future.

I was skeptical about ordering this but hey at $15 what to lose. You can tell the plastic case is a cheap replacement and the buttons aren't exactly the same. BUT, this thing works and works well. There's no reason to pay more for a genuine replacement. A good, affordable replacement for an aging receiver.

It controls my Onkyo receiver quite well, but it would be nice if it could also control a TV and/or DVD player. It has all the buttons (except for the mute button, another minor annoyance) but no programming instructions for other devices, nor does it use the same programming instructions as the original Onkyo controller. As a result, I now have three separate controllers to dig into.
