Why didn't I get those lockpicks decades ago?

I worked as a gatekeeper for decades. For decades I've used simple pliers to handle different types of clamps. Now I have this tool set. I like the tote bag - things fit well. The tools are well made and feel good in my hand. I suspect these tools will outlive me. I love them so much I bought a set for my son. I suspect that he will live with these instruments for as many years as I have with them.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

If you work with modern cars, add this to your arsenal.

If you work on modern cars with quick release skewers, do yourself a favor and buy this kit. This saves you a lot of time when you are working on something that is not directly in front of you. I was working on a Porsche turbo and this kit was purchased after hours of trying to use the stock pliers/channel locks I had. Not snap-on quality but good enough for a shade tree mechanic.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Almost never

Arrived just in time and they work great

I have had no problems with this tool kit. I'm a good set for my collection; You jacks of all trades and women know what I'm talking about. My daughter's Chrysler Sebring broke down (although I needed this set years ago). Anyway, I always used "Cobrasยฎ" pliers to unhook the hoses from the car. But sometimes it took an hour for some of them to get where they were. Now I just need a few more minutes so I'm glad I looked for it! They also arrived on time!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Repair

Good shim tools required

I've been following other reviews of how these tools helped make the job easier and they were right. I had everything I needed in this case to help me remove and replace the hoses to replace the water pump. Basically I used the five bottom pliers to loosen and hold the clamps open. I used all of the pliers on the bottom except for the spacer pliers which is fourth from the left. Pliers at different angles help you get into hard-to-reach places. I didn't use cable pliers or a pickaxe to breakโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Overkill - but it was what I needed.

Chances are I will NEVER use most of these. I have it for $50 now and I used "a" tool in it to make my life easier at this time. All other tools on deck for future use. A long serpentine tool was just what I needed to get rid of the ugly "spring" hose clamp, aka "band" or "permanent tension" hose clamp, that was separating from the vacuum line on the back. 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe intake manifold. NOT easy to get to and because of the "nature" of the clamp without this tool it was a bear. ***NOTEโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • It's fine

This set is a good choice if you only use it occasionally and are more mechanical. My expectations were a bit higher for the price paid, but were mostly met. If you are a professional auto mechanic I would ditch this set and spend the extra money on a Snap On, Craftsman or MAC. That's enough, but in some cases you're wasting time messing around with tools to get them working. There were no instructions on what tool to use for what type of clamp, so you'll have to figure it out yourself. Aโ€ฆ
