Send me a working lock

I just received this lock and it seems they don't check the keys working before shipping. I've tried both keys and the keys won't turn in the lock and you can't open it. The quality wasn't impressive. Made cheap! I return it 20 minutes after receiving it

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Nice chrome: Motorbike & Powersports

The chrome on this unit is very nice. The locking mechanism is quite simple. I had to reduce some of the roughness inside. I added a rubber gasket to seal and keep water out. I also replaced the screws so they can be removed or replaced if necessary. I used super glue to secure the screws after installation.

  • Easy to read control panel

doesn't last. best protective gear

When I first got it I thought it worked fine. after 3 rides, no more than 3 hours, it's a whole different story. One of the locks fell apart and it looks like the other will do the same. I don't know where the parts went but it was very frustrating to lock up my helmet and find that the key shank was missing rendering it unusable. Luckily this happened within the return time so it's coming back.

Bad fit, not the best quality, LOADING!

Keys don't fit very well - it takes a lot of force to insert. Doesn't fit properly on my 1.25" safety bar. I had to deburr the unit to keep it from scratching my bike. The packaging was quite dented, like it had been on a dirty shelf for a while. Didn't return it as I couldn't Can't remove due to its tampering -Proofing but wouldn't order again Cheaply made IMO Edited with one star: So I installed it Even before I shift into 2nd gear it's VERY DIRTY/VIBRATING. It will take some work to remove…

A good deterrent but a determined thief will defeat this lock

I am very happy with this helmet lock. I attached mine to the saddlebag rails on the side of the bike. It doesn't fit well in the front engine guards where I was dying to add a lock. On the first try there was a large gap between the lock body and the barrel. I chose not to use a tamper proof screw when I first installed the helmet lock. I used standard mounting screws to be able to move it around until I found a spot I liked. I think I'll use stainless steel screws once I find a permanent…

Great product for the price

Product received very quickly. The hardest problem I had was deciding where to place it on my bike for my helmet. It fits my steering wheel very well. The only negative I have to say is that the screws are "one way only" making them very difficult to move if you decide to misplace them. The heads on the screws can be torx heads or anything that requires a special tool to tighten and remove. Something most people don't have in their pocket or regular tool box. I didn't go all the way thinking I…

Beautiful Helmet Lock - Motorbike & Powersports

I needed a device that could mount/install on my 2008 Harley Superglide Custom to protect my helmet without having to carry it around. I know no helmet lock is 100% effective because any idiot with a utility knife can cut through a chin strap and steal it. My guess is that even mudbags that steal someone's helmet won't steal the one they just disabled by cutting the chin strap. The second option was to remember to take a padlock or pistol lock with me every time I drove, and I didn't want to do

  • Absolutely Amazing!

Highly recommend looking elsewhere

This product is very cheap as you can see from the photo, there are a few issues I would like to point out. 1) No rubber or any type of bushing needs to be placed between the grips and/or the bracket, which means that the handlebars can be very easily scratched if a slip occurs. 2) As you can see from the pictures, the locking mechanism (key) rotates only 16 inches between locking and unlocking. This isn't much of a test, as this lock works more as a deterrent than a preventative. When it…

Not easy to place

I agree with almost everything that has been said about this product. I think my biggest disappointment was finding a place to mount it on my 1200 Sportster Custom. I wanted that on the handlebars but found I'm limited to a small area on the left side so I'll probably use removable bolts because that's where I'll be mounting the GPS in the near future. It says it can be adjusted to 1-1/4". I wouldn't try that, as another reviewer pointed out. The opening of the device at its widest point is…
