Perfect long arm, shockingly excellent quality!

These amazing quality shocks come with all the hardware and the bushings have tons of travel for top of the line 5 inch Bilstein shocks. I would definitely recommend a good upgrade too if you have long arms in your XJ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Short manual

Perfect fit for my application.

Great shock absorbers for the price, bought them to replace the 3.5" version when I installed long arms on my 99 XJ. For some reason the 5.5" version seems to make my Jeep appear more planted/stable although I'm not sure why as the only difference is that it has longer travel but still a good return on investment.

  • Spare parts
Cons
  • Some little things

Big shock. Looks good, fits perfectly. I am using 5.5" Rubicon Express reels on a long arm XJ Cherokee setup. The coils detach from the spring isolator about 4-5 inches before the shock is fully extended. I cut off most of the fender and with the stuffed 33" tires the shock doesn't bottom out. There's a lot of down and up travel, so I'm very pleased. The ride quality was slightly better compared to my worn out Rough Country shocks that served as my limiter bar for about a year.

I was sure my shocks were fine, I just needed a longer shock in the front.

I was sure my shocks were fine, I just needed a longer front shock (my old ones were my limiter straps), I tightened the fronts and pretended to be my jeep in Bach . On some 2WD track with whoops and washboard I quickly found that my rear wheel was now sucking and again becoming a limiting factor for me, this time I couldn't stop the rear end from doing what it wanted to do. Now I know it's a jeep so I took it to the rocks where it feels right at home and it's worked wonders, this time with no…
