Bilstein 24 188197 5100 Shock Absorber Review

Replaced a set of Rancho shocks that never worked properly. difference between day and night. If you have a Jeep with lift kits, you need these shocks. Great looks and rebound and rebound control like no other. Worth every penny.

These shock absorbers are great for the Jeep WJ. They drive a little more confidently, but overall the car feels more confident on the road, at speed over bumps and on the track where it counts. In my opinion the best value for money after installation in several vehicles. Shocks you can buy for a setup that sees the road and dirt.

I fitted them to the back of my 2000 XJ and Bilstein is top notch but the bolt that goes through the hole in the wheel and holds the rubber is too short for the rubber end that they deliver with the product. I use new rubbers under the wheel well because that's where all the weight is, but I used my original rubbers for the top because they fit.

98 Jeep XJ with 3" lift kit. These shocks are superb and really absorb road bumps especially with the newly installed coils. Billstein shocks are the best shocks I have used on my jeeps over the years, as I own dozens of different styles and brands, this is no exception and is not made in China which I think is a plus.

These things are amazing. Thing Jeep is in development (next leaks on the list should be fixed) haha. It took about an hour to install, and my goodness! Doesn't matter. This Grand Cherokee has a 4.5 inch lift that makes my tires more responsive. Now I have almost no body roll on tight corners and hit a speed bump next door at 30mph just to see if they can handle it. These shocks have no abuse issues and move smoothly all the time.

I bought these to replace worn shocks that came with the 3.5 inch lift kit on my Jeep Cherokee. During a test drive I noticed that it drives very smoothly over small bumps/cracks. on large cones it hardens. much better handling than the twin-tube shocks we've used before. I read other reviews that said they were too harsh. Yes, they run better than the factory. But with a lift kit and bigger tires, you should have a tighter, more controllable ride. I am very happy with them.

I don't know why it took so long to buy a bilstein kit for my WJ maybe because I thought they were for wheels or for 4 inch jacks and the MX-6s I've ridden were good shocks, but then I paid for 6 stiffness settings and almost never changed anything other than setting the front shocks to 4 and the rear shocks to 2).
