Works great, 2 second setting

Works as expected, the only problem is the swing arm at the base of the antenna. There is no way to tighten it, so when fully extended the antenna must be supported by something else it will fall off at the slightest vibration or wind. We use the outside so the top is supported by two screws on our frame. I put an antenna in between and it works fine. The only downside I've found is typical of most inexpensive antennas. I would recommend this product but would like to mention this small flaw.

Pros
 • Frequency range: 20MHz - 1300MHz; 7 sections; Length: 20cm - 115cm; SWR: <2.0; Impedance: 50 ohms; Antenna connector: BNC connector;
Cons
 • Reliability

Cheap Well Made for Antennas

I don't know what "metal" this antenna is made of, but a few seconds after I took it out of the box and installed it on the back of my scanner, the outer laminated material started to peel off to detach . This revealed what was underneath the light gray plastic material. I have had many of these telescoping antennas over the years, I have never seen any of these designs before. The antenna will not stand upright when fully extended, it will fall under its own weight. Also, the reception isn't…

Pros
 • Package Contents: 1 x Antenna (as shown in the picture);
Cons
 • New competitors have arrived

Keeps crashing.

The BNC connector on most BNC connectors does not have a spring holding it in the locked position. It's just a quarter turn BNC with no spring, no way to adjust antenna position. The length is decent but falls off constantly as there are no adjustment screws on it. It doesn't stand alone, is very sloppy and impossible to keep upright. You have to use the tacks on the wall to keep it upright or it keeps tipping over. This is my spare antenna and it requires quite a bit of maintenance and always…

Pros
 • Compatible with Uniden, Whistler police radio scanners and CB Cobra, Uniden, Midland and Maxon handheld radios.
Cons
 • Ugly packaging

Not well made

Quality: Weak and cheap. The antenna doesn't stay upright, it falls down because the screws are loose, and it's cheaply made. ----Performance: I installed on a CB mobile radio, which is not a good start. I was able to pick up a signal from a friend about 1/4 mile away, much clearer than the original antenna. Anything beyond 1/4 mile forget it unless you are in an open field. ----- Recommendation: Spend a little more and get a better antenna, stronger and more durable. This thing looks like this

Pros
 • Compatible with Uniden, Whistler police radio scanners and CB Cobra, Uniden, Midland and Maxon handheld radios.
Cons
 • Cable is shorter than others
