🔬 Enhanced Biohome Filter Media Review

It's hard to write a review of biological media because how do you know what works and what doesn't when using multiple types of media? What I'm saying is that I tried a test where you dip the end of a dry piece into a small amount of water and watch it soak up the water. It was impressive. I bought this on the recommendation of a guy who makes a "pump my filter" video on YouTube. So I think it will work fine on my system with multiple filter media.

I used this media in a Fluval FX4 canister filter along with Biohome starter balls as recommended by the manufacturer for about 45-50 gallons of water in a 90 gallon aquarium which is two of my large, very dirty turtles that staying clean has always been a big problem. After trying many other organic media over the years, I was finally able to create a lasting bacterial balance in the water with these products for the first time. Brilliant! A bit pricey but worth it!

I'm torn. I personally consider this type of media to be the best biomedia. That's why I gave 4/5 stars. One star off for the amount of product received. I guess two "big" pounds came to mind. it was more like two "little" pounds. It was about 1/3 of what I needed but I can't buy the other 2/3 simply because I don't feel like spending $150 on something I can get for $20 with a slightly lower quality medium could . I don't know how laborious it is to manufacture or how expensive the materials…
