BiOrb 12 Volt Air Pump Review

This worked better than what came with my original biOrb which I bought about 4 years ago. I hope it continues to work without any failures!

DO NOT BUY! This pump does NOT have enough power for filtration to work properly. I don't know why Biorb dropped the 9901 but this sucks! Just buy a 110V device and you will be happy. I returned this item the next day for a refund. DO NOT BUY!

noticeable pump noise can be heard after 2 weeks. Be sure to place the pump on foam or other materials that can absorb or dampen noise/vibration. Addendum: After about 4 months now. The air that is blown out is weak and its pressure is not sufficient to increase the air volume so that enough air bubbles form even with a new air stone.

Please note that the pump you will receive may be an older Biorb air pump, not the one pictured as was the case in my case. The pump works perfectly; however, it's a bit noisy if you don't take the right steps to "trick" the design. Place a small rubber mat (slightly larger than your pump) under the device. Make sure the pump is not touching anything near it. When the pump is on, vibrations are dampened by the rubber mat, not the floor. This worked for me, hopefully others will find a similar…
