In the last few years I have bought two of these to use with my outdoor grill. I like the large, easy-to-read numbers that I can see from the rear window when mounted next to the grille. The sound is loud enough, the controls are convenient. I just want it to last longer. I last bought it in September 2019, it's now May 2021 and it's dead. Power on, new battery, nothing. This timer is a lot bigger than I expected. The display is nice, big and easy to read from a distance. The timer is easy to set up and works as it should. It only requires 1 AAA battery (included). I never see products these days that only require 1 battery! There is a kickstand on the back, a small magnet and a recessed hanger so there are plenty of hanging/standing options. This timer is a great gift for an elderly person as it is very easy to use and can be quickly trained even by a child. I

This is a well designed device with some features. Contrary to what other reviewers have claimed, this device actually works as a countdown timer and stopwatch. After setting the time with the smaller buttons on the left (minutes) or right (seconds), the device starts to work as a countdown timer.
