Element 2004: my feedback

Fixed the problem, easy to install, and does what it is designed to do, saves the effort of replacing the entire cable. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • The black billet aluminum construction of this product is incredibly durable and able to withstand regular use without showing signs of wear and tear, making it a long-lasting addition to your vehicle
Cons
  • May not be the best value for the money compared to other repair options

Get ready to modify the attachment point.

Piece itself feels good in your hand, but the walls are a little thin. The screw hole on the first one stripped when trying to tighten it onto the shaft. I'd suggest taking a file and filing down a flat section so the screw has something to push against, as well as create a lip so it doesn't pull off the shaft. A thicker wall would give the screw more purchase, and not strip as easily. I'd buy it again if needed, but would just remember to not try and tighten the screw too much.

Pros
  • Just as pictured. Fits great nice bold color.
Cons
  • May not be covered by a warranty

Excellent repair solution. Thirty minutes at most.

Great solution to a common problem.Use a tubing cutter to score your line, then a side cutter to nip away the plastic. Insert raw metal cable end and tighten the included set screws and reinstall trim. That's all there is to it.

Pros
  • my package missed one screw.
Cons
  • May require additional hardware not included in the kit

Fits exactly with clean look

Be aware, you do have to do some minor modification to remove the hard plastic around the wire that this attaches to. That's the only part that's a pain about this and it's going to be the same pain no matter what car you do this to. Outside of that, well made, everything you need for installation. Took me about 20 minutes because my body is a bit broken, so should be that or less for you. Only thing you'll need is a good pair of wire cutters or anything that'll give that plastic that has to be

Pros
  • it looks good but had to get my own screw the one it comes with is garbage but it was easy to install
Cons
  • May not fit if the latch has been replaced with a non-standard version

The part looks good out of the box

Just be very careful not to over tighten the allen key; the threads in this aluminum part are very weak and can strip easily.

Pros
  • Fit: Civic 1996-2011,CRV 1997-2006,Element 2003-2011,Ridgeline 2006-2014.
Cons
  • May not be legal for use in all regions or states

Works good for a broken off pull handle latch.

Works, fit my 2004 Honda civic lx. You will need to remove the rest of the plastic from the original broken pull handle thats left on the metal cable stem. This will slide right on the stem. Works good.

Pros
  • Cables
Cons
  • May not be as effective as other hood latch repair options

After 21 years, the plastic hood latch release handle in my 1998 Honda Civic EX finally broke off. I figured I'd just pull the remaining plastic stump to open the hood, no biggie. Well, there IS a better way, and this is it! Comes with solid aluminum release handle, set screw, and Allen wrench. There are no instructions included, but logic should tell you what you need to do - cut off the plastic stump without damaging the metal core, slide this thing on, tighten up, and DONE. The Allen wrench…

Pros
  • Feature:Made of premium billet aluminum,We use an anodizing black treatment for each repair kit.
Cons
  • May require frequent adjustment to remain functional

Good replacement on my review.

The latch release was broken. This is a great replacement from the factory plastic. I’m not sure about the sturdiness yet because it’s just got installed.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • May not be compatible with aftermarket hood locks

Just do it, you will be happy.

Much nicer feel that the plastic one and easy to put on. Cut what was left of my old handle off, I used a dab of thread locker on the hex screw, that was not included, and good as new. Fits great, worth every penny, I would buy again but can see this ever see this failing, but if I get second Honda.

Pros
  • Perfect perfect perfect, wish all projects were this easy!!!
Cons
  • May be difficult to source replacement parts

Does the job! best in my review

The first latch handle wouldn’t stay on so they replaced it but I was able to strip my hood cable using a pipe cutter as soon as I stripped it leaving only the metal piece I placed the hood latch handle on the cable I tighten it with the screw and now I have a working hood cable.

Pros
  • I liked that this part is medal, compared to the factory plastic.
Cons
  • May not be strong enough to handle heavy use or abuse

Pros
  • Looks quality but when it stalled it’s definitely cheap china crap
Cons
