One thing that bothered me about the description of this sander is that I couldn't figure out what kind of sandpaper it uses. I couldn't find this information on the manufacturer's website either. The answer is that it uses 5 inch 8 hole Velcro discs to collect dust. This is a common and readily available abrasive, but the manufacturer should make this clearer. This B&D sander is slightly more powerful than my 20 year old Dewalt. It is rated at 2.4 amps versus 2.0 for Dewalt. I also like the grippy grip texture. Dewalt has a smooth texture that is sometimes harder to grasp. I also like the switch to B&D.
