Blackhawk Proto ST 1167 Slotted Starter Review

According to my experience, this slotted starter is a game-changer! The quality is impressive and the smooth finish made it easy to use. It is a great value for its price and perfect for all your fastening needs! However, it may not be the best option for heavy-duty projects.

I had a similar tool but it wasn't hard at all. It's been about 30 years or so. When it finally broke I had to look for a replacement. I found this one and loved it because it looked almost exactly like the photo. It works but doesn't hold the screws as well as the latch on one of them.

As a service technician, I use a screw starter almost every day. I had a Stanley screw starter which I used for over two years with no problem but lost it. So I looked at the Revain and found this Blackhawk model five dollars cheaper than the Stanley. But after only a dozen uses, this tool's locking mechanism failed to "lock" onto the screw head. I learned my lesson, today I ordered a new Stanley model!
