Block Bros 12Oz Oil Review

Block Brothers has a really good product. Block Oil is easily absorbed and gives the surface a rich, protected appearance. My only concern is durability. How long the oil stays on the wood or how quickly it evaporates. I have a few salad bowls that we don't use often, and I suspect this oil is nothing but a memory - even after five uses in five days.

I have a 60 year old cutting board that my grandfather made for me when I got married. I see cuts on the board and hope the oil in the block will prevent further damage. I didn't give the product five stars because I found it half price after ordering at a retail store I serve. I didn't want to cancel the order but I will buy from this store next time.

I've looked for this oil everywhere I live but no luck in my area and I'm surrounded by big shops but I'm glad I found it here on Revain.com , it arrived very quickly I applied it to the New Butcher Block surface it was very wet and now it looks great it has no strong odor just a very subtle light lemon smell and it worked great. The next day I could see all the beautiful tones coming through the maple wood colors, now I'm looking for other surfaces to smudge! Look at the photos posted, thanks

A few weeks ago I contacted Wusthof customer service for advice on restoring an old knife block. The support rep said I could use food grade mineral oil but said he personally used Block Bros Block Oil because it doesn't contain mineral oil.
