Can't sharpen my knives

Despite YouTube videos this "sharpener" couldn't sharpen any of my knives, from cheap to very expensive. I bought it to restore the edges in the field but I couldn't do that either so I returned it. The metal rods are too soft to sharpen my knives. Others may have the same or very different results.

Pros
  • Same as all before
Cons
  • Safety

Good sharpener for cutlery and knife accessories

If you have a knife with a good sharpness this is a great tool to keep the blade nice and sharp. I have not been able to sharpen an extremely dull knife to a good level with an ox sharpener. With that in mind, I will be ordering a few more to keep in my bow case, tackle box, work bag, etc.

Product video great product not much!

I watched a lot of videos before buying the BLOCK sharpener and damn I was impressed by all the great videos! If just one of the videos depicts what this damn thing does in real life, a good video is a terrible sharpener. I followed the printing angles and did one side first, then the other, then in the middle (although the instructions are different). Needless to say, very disappointed!

Works well for keeping an already sharp blade sharp

I was watching a YouTube video of this sharpener making an axe, cutting paper and shaving hair off my arm. I must be doing it wrong because I have a pocket knife that just didn't come out sharp after using this block sharpener. It's good to keep an already sharp blade sharp, but if it becomes too dull with use, this sharpener won't sharpen it.

Very good knife sharpener that works!

the first managed to lose on the river. This is a great little tool. Lightweight, compact and gets the job done. Simply slip the knife through two legs and it instantly becomes razor sharp. I've read some negative reviews about this product and to be honest I don't get it. If you can't sharpen your knife with this thing, it's best to have someone else do it for you, or better yet, avoid knives altogether. Must have in every backpack!

Fur. Sun, Sun: Knife sharpener

4/5 🌟 just because it cuts when you're not looking 😊 This sharpener is designed for quick sharpening on the fly while you work. I have a Kershaw Link that I use to shave my hair, but you have to hold it to get the right angle. Practice creates masters! But really, it's only for quick fixes. Nothing spectacular. If you want your hair sharp, get a real stone and a more expensive sharpening system. Will definitely take a few more as gifts and keep with me. Update: I have two 🌟. Does not sharpen

just get one, get one now, at least one.

I came across the block sharpener at a local gun show, probably in the late 90's. I thought it was a joke because the guy didn't use a whetstone, how could it even work. I walked away when I was four and have been using the same ones ever since. I buy several here and there as gifts for friends and family. When I say I use the same ones since I REALLY HAVE THE FIRST TIME I BUYED. Just pull out the steel bar, twist it, voila, you start over. Once you have acquired this minimum skill, you are…

Copes very well with my $400 Damascus!

This feedback is 100% verified by the buyer and I have not contacted the seller or the manufacturer. I recently bought a German-made Boker Tree Damascus Drop Point pocket knife for $400 and wanted to find a way to sharpen the beautifully patterned 300-layer Damascus blade without damaging it. After doing a little research, I came across The Block Sharpener. This device has done a very good job of not nicking, nicking or scratching the blade. I highly recommend watching The Block Sharpener's…
