Just received and set up literally 15 minutes ago. It played my region B Blu-ray disc with no problems. But you need to read the instructions carefully. I turned on the device first, then pressed [2] and inserted a disc, but it didn't play. Then I realized that I need to turn the unit off FIRST and THEN press [2] - this actually turns the unit on and then plays a Region B disc (or any region of your choosing).
