Review on πŸ“€ LG BP-350 Region Free Blu-ray Player: Multi Region, Smart WiFi, 110-240V with 6FT HDMI Cable & Dynastar Plug Adapter Bundle by Viswanath Lopez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Discs from different regions play as advertised but audio output is only 2.1, very small and light player

Just received and set up literally 15 minutes ago. It played my region B Blu-ray disc with no problems. But you need to read the instructions carefully. I turned on the device first, then pressed [2] and inserted a disc, but it didn't play. Then I realized that I need to turn the unit off FIRST and THEN press [2] - this actually turns the unit on and then plays a Region B disc (or any region of your choosing). PROS: Disc played in Region B and I'm sure it will play in other regions too. I haven't tried my European DVDs yet. Settings show Wi-Fi under Network, I need to check that and update my rating. But I didn't buy this player for the web, so it doesn't bother me too much. CONS: It feels cheap, very light, not strong at all. Based on my experience with electronics I'm concerned it won't last very long or I'll have performance issues. Another downside is that it has NO audio out on the back (you're unlikely to be shown photos of the back of these non-region players). It only has ONE HDMI output, but underneath it says 2.1 DTS audio. I suspect this player does not support 5.1 DTS surround sound and can only output 2.1 channel audio. I sent a question to the seller (Bombay Electronics), I will update the rating. If my guess is correct, I can look for another model with a better audio output option. I also asked the seller this question. For some reason, they never give any details about the sound output options on these multi-region players.
