Oil smell - heating, cooling and air quality

Agree with other reviewers, there is an oil/chemical smell that the original filters did not have. It took months to go. I just ordered again with the same problem. We also have a vortex cleaner and the filters don't have this problem. So disappointing that I no longer feel comfortable in my children's room.

WARNING! POISONOUS! DO NOT BUY!

Absolutely Shameful! Blueair sells toxic replacement filters! THEY SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE MARKET IMMEDIATELY! WHY HAVE YOU NOT VERIFIED? Within minutes my kids and I had burning eyes, sore throats and headaches. How can a company that sells air purifiers sell filters that pollute the air with toxic fumes? And if you look at the reviews, it's been like this for years. Shameful.

Don't buy the smell of chemicals/pesticides!

Possibly counterfeit. It smells horribly of chemicals. The new original filter that came with the kit was fine. I installed this replacement filter and put the baby to bed. I came back later and was shocked at how bad it smelled. I feel terrible about my boy that he had to sleep there with that toxic smell for a while. Maybe it's the pesticide the camp was treated with? I don't know, but it's bad. I'll call Blueair tomorrow.

Bad reviews are right. Do not buy!

I've been using BlueAir filters for years with no problems. Recently bought a new filter and immediately noticed a chemical smell. Suddenly I was overwhelmed and sneezed all night. At first I thought it was because I upgraded to a higher quality filter, so I bought the base model. The smell is a little less but still the same. Like new filters adding irritants to the air. This needs to be addressed. DO NOT BUY.

Air filter with a chemical smell

As other reviewers have noted, this filter has a chemical smell. I didn't have this problem with the latest Blueair filter I bought. I don't feel like waiting for the chemical smell to "burn out". It shouldn't be there in the first place. I don't know what to do now. My air purifier is in my bedroom and I don't want to smell it while I'm sleeping. It probably won't let me sleep anyway. I don't know if I should return it and try another one or what. If the Blueair filters don't work and there…

HORRIBLE PRODUCT PLEASE READ!

The first time I bought a 200 series car was 8 years ago and I have had good results. THEN I stopped using it for a few years because I lived in an area and home where I didn't need to continue. Moved to Austin, Texas, which some call the allergy capital of the USA. Well on 3 separate occasions I have bought these filters direct from Blueair and not a fake and I can tell you these are the stinkiest, TOXIC and most horrible filters around. I've tried turning the system on when I was out 10 hours

Chemical odor in air cleaner parts and accessories

I have ordered these filters many times and love my Blueair air filter! But this time my replacement filter had a terrible chemical smell. I tried running it for a while to see if it would shrink, but it didn't and I just got sick. I ordered two filters and tried the second one. Same problem. I just had to throw them away because I couldn't stand the smell long enough to even wrap them up for a return. One of the reasons I invested in my Blueair air filter in the first place is because I'm…

These filters smell bad and degrade the air, do not buy

The last three filters I bought always smelled like glue or solvent. I left them, but the smell didn't go away, and the air in my house became worse than before when I used them. The filters are made in India and the last three I bought smelled really bad right out of the box. It's not worth having a car that works well but I can't find good filters for it. In addition, these are not real HEPA filters, but overpriced dust filters. I bought a Honeywell HPA300 and it works much better than the…
