📘 Blues Clues Handy Notebook - Unlocking Fun and Learning Review

I bought this for my 3 year old grandson. He is autistic and shows little enthusiasm for new toys. When I showed him this toy he was very happy and kept it almost all day. It's easy to learn and feels like Josh's handy fancy notebook.

It's bad enough that many children's Christmas products are overpriced, but this product came with dead batteries. We had the batteries replaced and they are three AG batteries costing more than the $7.99 list price for this item. Very disappointed.

This handy dandy notebook is great! Looks like Josh from the show. The coolest thing is that one side of it is like a sketch that you can draw and then erase. On the back are various buttons that play music or messages. The handle is secured with a plastic spool and after 3 weeks my grandson hasn't broken it!

I think it's a cute toy and easy to erase, but Blue's Clues game will be hard to play because it doesn't track clues. It's more of a drawing toy to me than a notepad from Jakks Pacific (those who made a dry-erase notepad toy when the OG Blue's Clues series aired), and part of the phone is a bit noisy when you tap the screen .

My little one loves Blue's Clues & You so we were delighted to buy this Handy Dandy notebook for his birthday. However, after a week and a half the magnet in the pen fell out! We spent a good hour looking for a magnet and panicked at the thought of our little one swallowing it. According to the description it is safe for children over 3 years old, but I do not recommend buying it for children under 5 years old.

The little tip of the pen fell out and I really believe it's a magnet that makes the notepad work. I actually have another one to check and it's small, but losing a magnet is dangerous, especially with a small child. Batteries and magnets are the most dangerous things for a child if swallowed. I had to take my son to the ER for an X-ray and I think the lord either spat him out or he came out the other end. I would not recommend this product to any child!

My daughter loves Blue's Clues and You. I bought this toy and another Handy Dandy notebook from Leapfrog. I assumed this device would be a cheaper toy and my daughter would spend more time with the Leapfrog device. I was wrong. One of the most important aspects of the show is drawing in a notebook.
