It works great as a walkie talkie. Solidly built.

Works and feels like a quality radio. However, I have a few problems with it. Sometimes it disconnects from the Zello app and needs to be "launched" to get it working again. This is when iTalkieDaemon is running and in the foreground when the phone goes to sleep. I'm pretty sure it's an application issue, not a hardware issue. Another issue is that I have two Wi-Fi networks at home with the same SSID and password and the Zello app doesn't switch smoothly between the two networks. I even…

Cozy. Not perfect but useful

They are very handy for chatting with a group via zellow, but they use/require a very annoying app that needs to be forcibly disabled deep in the settings. Can't figure out why the app doesn't have a "log out" or "shut down" function. Another annoying little nuance. I bought two of these. "American" voice, the other has a red battery level indicator and says "British" prompts. I also have a very clear voice and a very rough voice, but I didn't deduct points for that because I could very well be

Nice bluetooth speaker with PTT

The speaker sounds good and clear, loud enough. Works well with Zello if you install italkiedaemon all on word in play store. This is not required for standard Bluetooth operation with your phone. The I Talkie daemon allows you to keep Zello running in the background when the screen is off and still control Zello ptt. However, if I used it in Messenger, it would trigger Zello and Messenger. It also works as a Bluetooth speaker, ideal for listening to music or YouTube, as well as ringtones and…

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine

Poor audio transfer in CB and radio equipment

Overall this is a decent form factor but I wouldn't recommend this mic for a number of reasons. upside down. The up pointer shape is "Volume Down" and the down pointer shape is "Volume Up" (and they even have minus and plus symbols - the up shape is labeled "minus" and the "down" shape is labeled "plus"). This is a confusing but minor bug that I could fix on my own. 2 - You need to install a second application (iTalkieDaemon) to manage the hardware buttons and make Zello available. which can…

Everything ok.: Headsets and microphones

UPDATE. I played around with it some more today and the TX sound on it is just awful. It looks like the microphone is overloaded and distorted at the same time. I tried lowering the gain to 1% but the audio is still distorted and you can hear barley. I also tried covering part of the microphone but the audio is still terrible. When I hold the mic at arm's length it's not as hot, but it still sounds very distorted. I've tried it on DVSwitch, Echolink and also its alleged Zello, all applications…

Pros
  • High-quality design

  • Requires socket
