The mechanism they use to control the camera doesn't seem to work on all iOS devices, OS versions or applications (didn't understand what the point is here). In my case it controls the volume.

I lost the remote control attached to my selfie stick in a torrential river. Oh. I was disappointed that I couldn't find a replacement for it, but these remotes are the next best thing. I just tighten the strap on the selfie stick and it's always there, and when I'm using it I can clip it to my wrist or belt loop so I don't drop the other one! Pairing was easy and the power button on the side ensures the battery lasts as long as possible.
