I find it a bit awkward to use

I'm a ceramics lover so I thought it was a cool idea. Nice and fun, but it turned out not to be that functional. There is a warning in the instructions not to leave it on a cold counter. I know porcelain/ceramic is temperature sensitive but not on the counter? That's too much for me. It's also a bit uncomfortable. The lid is quite deep and has the expected rubber ring (or similar) around it. In order to close the lid tightly, the push rod has to be twisted, which is a bit annoying. Finally, I…

Attractive Ceramic Coffee Press

My husband loves French Press coffee and this coffee pot is very attractive with its red and white design. The colors are strong and the red really stands out. The press worked well and the coffee strainer is so finely meshed that only a very small amount of sediment remained in our coffee cups. I have another glass and stainless steel french press that works as well or better than our glass coffee pot. The seal on the lid ensures that the coffee does not spill out of the pot when poured. . It…

There are a few flaws but still very nice

BonJour French Press in stoneware with red stripes is very nice. The style and colors fit perfectly in my kitchen and seem to awaken the senses when looking at them. The press holds exactly 32 ounces of liquid inside, not 8 cups unless you typically drink 4 ounce cups at a time. I think it's important to note that it's not actually 8 full cups of liquid. The weight of the press is heavier than expected and it can be a little tiring to hold on to after long periods of time if my joints bother…

Super nice.: Coffee, tea and espresso

This is a beautiful heavy ceramic French Press. It's a bit more decorative than my other French presses. You probably already know what a French press is and how to use it, it works just like any other. Pour coffee (ground recommended) or loose leaf tea into the carafe, add water boiled to the desired temperature, pour in, steep for the recommended/preferred time, then slowly push the plunger down. Pour your drink. Clean up is pretty easy — I scoop up most of my coffee or tea with a large spoon

Terrible scratching noise

In hindsight, ceramic cookware isn't the best choice for a French press, at least not considering the design of the BonJour press. I love the way it looks (festive for the winter holidays) but that's about all I like. At first I was disappointed to see that large styrofoam blocks were used to pack the product. This is not environmentally friendly. Recyclable molded egg cartons should be used. Ergonomically, I don't like how they make that awful scraping noise when the piston goes up. I was…
