I bought this for my macaw and she easily took it apart in a day. The O-rings open very easily. Also, I don't believe the chain is made of stainless steel or nickel, which are the only metals that are safe for parrots. I say that because I put the parts in the sink after she took them apart and the chain left a rusty stain in my sink. The chain rusted the next day. Don't lie in the water.

Plastic parts are broken. However, it took about a day, but the metal parts and chains still stand up to this very strong and destructive bird when it comes to toys. Check out other toys built like tanks in a cage. The most expensive, the one on the far right, the red aluminum strip, screw, nut and washer should be reattached to the toy when he unscrews the nut. God, this toy gave my bird hours of play every day. I've had it for a few months now and she's not even remotely tired of it. I was smart and didn't put it in her cage. It would drive me crazy and probably lead to hearing loss as well. I hung it on her toy wagon, which is in front of the window in her playroom. She is having the best time! She laughs and says to eat and she beats the shit out lol. This is by far the best toy I've ever gotten for her. Very strong and durable.

I received this toy (actually there are three) and I can't wait to give it to my birds. I knew what to expect when I took it out of the box, it DEFINITELY rings! Imagine a child dragging some pots on a tiled floor, the sound of this toy comes very close. It is very noisy, I would recommend it as a toy every now and then. I swear I heard them outside! I put mine on fast clamps so I can switch to quieter ones if needed. Birds love them and like to play with them so I'm happy with my purchase.

My Gray Parrot lives in an aviary. She usually just sits around even though she has a lot of toys but when I came in to hang her up she immediately grabbed them and started strumming before I even hung them up!
