🛠️ BOSCH RA1128: Enhance Your Router's Precision with the 8-Piece Template Guide Set Review

Like many others, my kit broke on first use. The quick release adapter is nice and works well, but the sockets are rubbish. I still use the universal quick release adapter that came with the kit and then use other standard sockets as needed. The depth of the sockets is also too great in many cases. and it would be much better if it was shorter.

The stencil guides are well made, the case is solid with extra slots for the guides. Only two in the set for the average DIYer to use, 1/2 and 1/4. Adapter for standard thread guide bushes. The concept of permanent centering using a bayonet lock and centering pins is far ahead of the threaded design. The rod of one of the template guides came loose from the base on the third use. I'm saying maybe there was a total of 7 dados before it happened, so not much use. It broke at the weld, leading me to believe they just didn't do a good enough job, or the design is flawed. I love how easy it is to switch from one size to another, but I don't usually use more than one size. I really wanted to do a one size deal. This is the advantage of the Porter cable set over this one. You can get just one guide instead of a whole set. Also, with a template guide, 8mm bit and ring adapter, this system is difficult to use. These 8 part template instructions from Bosch arrived today. Has 6 guide bushes. The problem is that all of these guide bushings are longer than advertised. I measured them very carefully. This product is terrible. I installed the hub clamp correctly on my Bosch router as it only fits one way and all the hubs are slightly off center when clamped. I've played around with this for hours and looked at all the tutorials out there and mine is just poorly done and there's nothing I can do about it.
