I spent so much money to find the best pencil sharpener and I found it. Bostitch is the best on the market. The tip is so sharp and the cut is so even around the entire circumference of the pencil. I am 100% satisfied with this product and can only recommend it because of its excellent properties.

Bought this sharpener in 2012, over 7 years ago. It no longer sharpens pencils to a fine point, but it was worth buying to work as a heavy duty sharpener and last as long. Decided to buy another brand for $20 and gave it a try this morning. Apparently it has a much weaker motor - it sharpens jerkily in just 1/2 second rather than continuously until either released or hitting a sharp point. Now planning on returning a new one and will likely buy this Bostitch again.

I have two of these. One in my classroom and one at home in my office. I love it. The sharpener is great because you only need to use one hand to sharpen your pencil. With front sharpeners, you need to hold them with one hand and use the other to sharpen your pencil (or you'll push the sharpener away). Bought this electric sharpener to replace a cheap model with a handle (also junk). This electric was finicky from the start. You have to press the pin at an angle to make the motor spin. After about 2 weeks it completely failed. I took it apart and found that the switch trigger is made of the thinnest plastic known to man - just very poor design and very cheap. I was able to heat and bend the plastic to get closer contact with the pin and now it works fine. But it's still a really cheap device.

I was very disappointed after trying to use my new Bostitch sharpener, mainly because it's the first product I've tried after all I've shopped at Revain for years. As some of the other reviews have noted, sometimes it only worked after repeated attempts or proper positioning or whatever. I've just emailed Bostitch for a warranty replacement and hope to join the 5 star reviews here next time. This is a great electric pencil sharpener. Its work works perfectly, it stops sharpening as soon as the tip becomes sharp, although the motor continues to work. We bought this sharpener 3 years ago. I agree with most of the comments from the other reviewers that the sharpener capacity is too small, especially the number of crayons my kids cycle through.
