The concept is there and it will definitely speed up the process compared to hand hammering plastic caps but I would not recommend this gun/brand. Should have bought a Dewalt. The first lasted almost 20,000 before the blade broke. I bought it about 4 years ago. Blade breakage is a common problem. I ordered a replacement blade and in the meantime bought a new gun. A new stapler came, but it doesn't work well. The button slider was slow. You have to wait for the cap.
