This part was easy to install. The passenger side floor panel has two screws and a plastic rivet to access the fan. My mom has two 2005 LeSabres, both had the same problem. I ordered a fan to try out. After replacing the fan, I found that all I had to do was tap on the old motor to get all the carbon off the brushes. First, let me say that my experience was probably accidental. I removed the old one relatively easily. The boy was rusty and dirty. This year the LeSabre, a 2003 Limited with 77,000 miles, must not have come from the factory with a cabin air filter. There wasn't even a filter frame.
