Perfect large water storage bottle for backpacking

I needed a big water carrier for a arid camping trip with friends, and this one reminded me of the one my friend has, which I love. This one arrived and it was everything I was hoping for! Just the right amount of "squishy stretch” to the material, seams sealed tight (I filled it all the way up and tested it overnight before putting it in my backpack), and had great attachment points. I really liked the cap "keeper” too, and the large mouth on the storage bottle. Imagine my surprise in the truck

Pros
  • Nicely designed and holds water. Simple.
Cons
  • May develop a plastic-like taste after prolonged use

Awesome kit! Soon as you get it you will be glad you did

What an excellent piece of kit. I can only say that after trying to use bladders from hydration packs inside my new packs it rarely works well. The opening is big enough to insert my steripen (I got the 2l ) and 1 minute later water is safe. When not in use it rolls up tiny ( came with tiny pouch, flat x 4x4 in) you could put a deck of survival cards in. Has external hang loops on it that lay flat also. I will definitely buy another. This is a collapsible canteen that fits in a cargo pocket…

Pros
  • EASY TO POUR - Low-profile, durable handle makes it easy to pour and carry, large 42mm opening is quick to fill, tethered screw cap prevents cap from getting lost
Cons
  • Requires special care to prevent mold growth

Worth its weight for my opinion

I have two bags for extra water. These take up little room for the amount of water they can carry. This size is perfect for extended sections of trail with no water access. It's better to carry one and not use it, then go without water.Pros:× 3.2oz× Katadyn Befree Filter Compatible× 3L for backup water× Multiple HandlesCons:× Not puncture resistant, but that's understandable due to a weight tradeoff.

Pros
  • Great compact bladder with its own little stuff sac.
Cons
  • Not available in larger sizes

Awesome water bag! for my opinion

This thing folds into a small little ball for storage then expands into a large water bottle! Quality material and does exactly what's it's designed for. Great Product!

Pros
  • Ideal for camping, hiking, or any outdoor activity
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children

Bought two, one leaked from top.

Good size and packs small. Had to return one due to small leak in cap. A bit clumsy to pour but you get used to it. No aftertaste. Would buy again.

Pros
  • Just a wonderful product. Space saving. Durable water bag.
Cons
  • I would love this but even after 2 years the water taste like plastic

Favorite Bag on my review.

I love this sturdy bag. The mouth is off-center to make it easy to fill in streams. I like that there's only one opening. I take off the BeFree filter I use w

Pros
  • Like the size of unit. Our camping with it.
Cons
  • Can leak if not sealed properly

Very difficult to drink out of or pour from

Because there's zero structure of any kind it just flops, folds and spills. It needs some kind of spine even a slightly rigid flexible handle woild work

Pros
  • No harmful chemicals present
Cons
  • May not be suitable for long periods of inactivity

Packable and easy to use.

Took this on a backpacking trip to filter water into in camp. Worked like a charm. Slightly difficult to keep upright when filtering water into it until you have about half full and then it stands well on its own. Exceeded expectations and planning on buying more for other situations.

Pros
  • Collapsible design for compact storage
Cons
  • Can be difficult to operate with gloves on

Excellent bladder for my opinion

I do 20-30 backpacking/climbing trips a year and my primary water filtration system is now this bladder in the 3L version, along with a Katadyn squeeze filter. They are made to work together and do so wonderfully. You can squeeze as hard as you can and the bladder won't pop. I did eventually cut it open on sharp rocks but it was my fault and after 3 years of heavy use. I'd recommend the 3L version over the 2L only because it weighs very little more and gives you more to work with (fewer trips…

Pros
  • Fits in most hydration packs
Cons
  • May not be suitable for running or jogging

Horrible plastic taste, unusable for drinking

Update: I contacted the manufacturer and they told me fill it with water with a few lemon drops, then freeze it. I did this and it made no difference. They then agreed to send me a new one, which doesnt have the oder of the first.Bought this on 8/26/22 with high hopes. Works as described.until you taste the fitered water. Strong rubber chemical taste. I thought that it was just because it was new, and that it would wear off. Nope. Used it a dozen times, no change at all. Going in the garbage…

Pros
  • Easily refillable
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all types of water bottles

Would recommend best in my review

The bladder is of very high qualityAt this price I expected the carrying pouch to be made better it tore the very first time I put the bladder inside

Pros
  • Comes in a variety of colors
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove air bubbles when filling

These fit the bill, and pair well with the Hydrapak Trek Kit.

I have 4 of these 2L reservoirs. (.and 2 of the 3L versions that come in the Trek Kits that I purchased on Massdrop.)I purchased 4 of these because I have 2 Husky-Shepard dogs, each with their own backpacking-packs. Both are 55-60lbs, high energy, and we regularly hit Red River Gorge for a few days at a time for a lot of hiking and camping. These bags fit into their packs on both sides, and the attached loops allow me to secure them to the inside of their packs. This keeps the water against…

Pros
  • WATER FILTER COMPATIBLE - Filter more water in the backcountry, most 42mm threaded filters (Katadyn BeFree) screw on to the top.
Cons
  • Can be bulky when filled to capacity

I will never be without one of these Hydrapaks again.

I received my first Hydrapak through a product testing group. I fell in love with it. You can freeze it and use it in your coolers, and then have water when it finally melts, you can warm the water up and throw it in your sleeping bag at night, you can easily pack it in your pack for backpacking and the filters work great in it. Sadly, I left mine in the back of my pickup all winter and it developed a hole. After debating trying to fix it myself or just get a new one, I threw it away not…

Pros
  • Bacteria and mold resistant
Cons
  • Requires maintenance to prevent algae growth

Disappointed: my feedback

My bottle leaked where the nozzle connects to the bag, right off the bat. Plus, the bottle does not stand up and is difficult to tip into your mouth. I do not want to have to lay this bag on the floor or on a dirty table. I have had collapsible bags in the past and I thought I was upgrading with this bag, but I was really disappointed in it and was unable to use it at all.

Pros
  • Made with safe and non-toxic materials
Cons
  • Can be expensive compared to other hydration options

Great Piece of Gear

This little guy totally saved my hike! My camel back only holds 2 liters and this let me refill it twice :) It’s earned it’s place in my pack an essential piece of gear when trekking those hot Florida trails. We went over 12 miles to our campsite without seeing any water sources. This extra capacity definitely saved the day.Very nice bottle, does exactly what it promises to do. It does indeed have a strong chemical taste at first, but I was able to clear it out. It did take quite a few rinses…

Pros
  • Made from high-quality materials that can withstand extreme conditions
Cons
  • Can be difficult to use with one hand

Great product! in my review

I use this with my katadyn be free for my water filter in the backcountry and it works amazing! A little tough to fill up from a stream but after using it a few times u get the hang of it.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • Can be heavy when filled with water

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great buy! Works with be free filter perfectly!

It took several salty lemon washes to get the plastic taste out. I used baking soda, dish soap, and salty lemon water. Take your time and wash multiple times before using

Pros
  • Affordable price point
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all types of water sources

Wildland firefighting tough!

Wanted an alternative to water bottles, something that was simple, tough, and that didn't take a lot of room. These when empty are light and regular nalgene water bottles arent heavy, but pounces add up and they dont collapse, also they take up more room then these hydrapak. I have had these for a few months I have smashed them up in my Fire Engine compartments. I have dropped my pack with them inside, I have sat on my pack with them inside and even accidentally dropped them from time to time…

Pros
  • Hands-free hydration on the go
Cons
  • May not fit in all refrigerators or coolers

Wonderful product - my new review

I fill this (3L) with roughly a gallon of water for my dog when we go on hikes. When it's empty, it's time to head home. I love how light it is, easy to backpack, fold up, and doesn't take up space, clank, crack, dent, etc. The material is really tough and the cap and threads are pretty tough too. I keep the 500ml one folded up in my carryon when I am traveling so I can fill once past TSA. I refill when I land so I have some clean water in my hotel room. They're handy to carry around and I…

Pros
  • Ideal for use during physical activity or work
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions

Didn't leak like other brands

The flavor is as expected from something like this. But it didn't leak at all and thats all I can really ask. May not be suitable for fast-paced hiking!

Pros
  • Leak-free design
Cons
  • May not be suitable for fast-paced hiking
