Broken but easily repaired with glue. The copper piece was not properly glued to the wooden handle. (Would have been 5 stars if I didn't have to glue it back together) It's amazingly large and durable and has a nice wooden handle. The brass is a bit dull, but the product is exactly as described.

Ordered 3 for an event, looks good from a distance (hence the 2 stars) but assembly is very cheap (you can see the glue on the wood where the brass is attached) and one was broken (because the Brass came loose and I had to fix it). As I will only be using them once they will work fine but don't think they are good either way.

The handle is long enough to reach without having to bring your hand to the fire and the bell rotates smoothly and won't get stuck in one position, so it doesn't matter which one Angle you reach it, it can record. The dark wooden handle gives it a nice vintage look that goes well with candles. Some reviews say the handle comes off, but I haven't seen that, although I've only had it recently.

I use it every day in winter. We don't use a fireplace very often in Florida, but we have one anyway. So instead of fiddling with wood and ashes, I put candles in the fireplace. There are so many of them that I'm tired of blowing them out and spraying wax on the walls of the chimney. This thing allows me to snuff out any candle quickly and efficiently without making a mess.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loved it. He was also popular with other family members, so I think it's the goalkeeper. :) Personally, I found it to be a bit longer and lighter than I expected, and it looks like the connection between the wooden handle and the metal part is a bit crooked.
