It is becoming increasingly difficult to find them in stores as most lawn mowers these days are fitted with newer types of filters. If you have early 90's/early 2000's Briggs that still serve you well and you want them to stay that way, grab a pair and keep them handy for future maintenance.

I only buy genuine parts as they usually only appear to work but I have had problems with this air filter. When I installed the filter it had a small damage inside which caused some problems to install it properly. Normally I would have returned it, but I had company and needed to mow the lawn. I was able to install it properly with a bit of fiddling and the mower now runs better than when I first bought it. If I didn't have such issues I would rate it 5 stars.

Neither of the 2 filters I received fit properly. Same part number as the old one I was trying to replace, but the inside diameter of both of these filters is too small to fit around and over the raised lip at the bottom of the air filter housing. Glad I checked it out as it's hard to tell that the rubber seal on the air filter isn't fully down when the green foam pre-filter is on.
