🔍 Briggs & Stratton Authentic OEM 691035 Fuel Filter - 40 Micron (2 Pack) Review

I bought a set of two filters for my Craftsman lawn tractor. I've never changed the fuel filter, but no problems either. However, I thought it would be a good idea to replace the old one. It was easy to replace but I recommend watching a video showing how to do it so you don't end up with gas everywhere. I learned it the hard way! My only real issue is that the first filter worked fine the first time we mowed the grass, but the next few times the mower shut down as if it was running out of gas.

The two items received were made very cheaply and were of poor quality, I always get an OEM B&S part. It looked very torn where the top and bottom pieces were joined together. It wasn't that I felt safe with my lawn mower and pressure washer. There was a very small B&S logo stamped on top of the filter next to the number 794079. I could not relate the B&S part to this number. The seller said this is the serial number. I found it quite odd that the serial number was stamped on the small filter…

Same filters as on my B&S Husqvarna ZTR engine. I like the fact that they're clear so you can make sure there's fuel in the line, but you can also (theoretically) check for contaminants in the fuel or tell when the filter needs replacing. This is an inexpensive maintenance item and should be changed annually as most low power devices only last half a year meaning the fuel has a higher chance of becoming contaminated and causing problems the next time your device uses it becomes. I received these filters in a plain plastic bag with no Briggs and Stratton branding on the product or packaging. I was expecting clear plastic filters and got white opaque filters like the others.
