Good but hated water filler

Bought after having had a couple of Brita water jugs, last one was old and wanted a new one. I don't like the fact that the water pouring area is on top and exposed. I clean the lid before each refill because I'm afraid that dust or dirt will get into the water jug. I like it when the water fill is closed. The jug works well, filters water, just don't like the design, won't buy it again.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Clarity

Buyer beware Pitcher water filter

This review is for this model only. I have 2 other Brita filter jugs that have been excellent. The first time I used this pitcher it broke. I filled it according to the instructions and when I tried to lift it out of the sink I heard a pop and saw that it had snapped near the handle. 10 cup capacity is .625 gallons and weighs approximately 5.2 pounds. So if you bought this I would recommend using two hands to pick it up.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other options

Has a quirk. Best in Water Coolers and Filters

The jug has several functions. First, at around 4 ounces, it actually holds less than my old version. Second, when pouring, sometimes the entire front of the top tilts toward the neck, causing massive leaks and splatters. When filling my coffee pot (which has its own Brita filter system, but I love my coffee and want water that's filtered twice) it's a mess. The lid you fill through almost shuts itself, but doesn't have to. The Filter Life system requires me to press it to check instead of…

I love it!: Water filter in pots

Why doesn't every pot fill up so and so quickly? It's amazing how quickly the water filters and I love that I don't have to fiddle with flip top lids to fill it up. Every jar I've ever received has had part of the lid snap off because the flimsy joints weren't designed to last, and of course in our throwaway culture there's no way to replace those lids so you're stuck with them and stare at her. at her with grudges for years. Or you have the horror of throwing out the whole pitcher and…

Poor build quality: Cracked handle

I chose this particular Brita jug because I liked how it can be filled without opening the lid. But a week after it got to my house, the handle was already cracked because it couldn't seem to support the weight of a full jug of water. This is a serious design flaw. This is the third Brita pitcher to have had problems shortly after purchase. We had an earlier model that is now out of production that had tears around the stitching on the bottom. Brita replaced the pitcher, but the second pitcher…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Great but heavy in the kitchen and dining room

This is quite a large pitcher. Good for families or entertainment. It is important to note that its size does not make it suitable for small fridges and it is very difficult to fill. Functionality: Brita works great and is easy to use. Just place it under the faucet and fill until the lid closes (you may have to do this twice when going from empty to full). When you overfill the upper tank, there is a hole next to the handle that removes excess water, and the tank is very durable. I wouldn't…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Out of style

I never knew how delicious water could be!

I DO NOT drink water. However, as I attempted to live healthier lives, I knew it was important to increase my water intake. The problem is that our water is "tasty" and I literally held my breath drinking it like medicine. I really don't like that plastic taste and smell that comes from bottled water. After a lot of research, this Brita Lake model got a high score in terms of functionality, and the large 10-cup capacity turned out to be the best solution for me. I like the ease of filling…
