Bought these lights for my front porch. If you've never detangled icicles, do a little test now. Patience. Locate the top edge of the lights and carefully untangle them. I did this in my living room before trying to hang them outside. Once I lined them up, I held the top edge of the light and assembled them accordion style. My staircase has a platform so turning on the light by myself was pretty easy. (I'm 70 years old.)
