Full disclosure I don't work in a laundry CFM validation / UV bacterial mortality scientist. This thing is so much better than the nearly 30 year old laundry room exhaust fan/light I had in there before. It took about 45 minutes to install (more than you did) and it's a lot brighter and less noisy than the previous model. I love this product! Super easy installation; less than 1 hour. Quieter exhaust compared to my 25 year old predecessor. The refill has a low profile and perfectly matches the 'feel' of the bathroom. The light output is much more efficient and aesthetic compared to the previous lamp replacement device. The antimicrobial paint is nice too. Very happy, excellent light, quiet fan and cool blue "sanitizing" light. The very low profile creates a very cool modern look that suits an older environment. I don't know if the blue light really does anything, but whatever it is, it looks cool and turns your pee bright green! But don't worry, it's not the black light that makes nasty things glow. We recently renovated our master bathroom and I needed to upgrade our fan/lighting. Pulling out the old fan box was a bit tricky, but the new box fit in easily. This location had an attic upstairs, so a lot of the insulation was blown. I would suggest putting the insulation back on once the installation is complete. I was expecting a relatively quick installation, but it ended up taking 4.5 hours. This was mainly because all the bolts holding the old exhaust in place were stripped off and there was very little room to work. Luckily I was able to use my dremel to cut out some metal and then cut out the screws to get the old fan out, just being careful not to start a fire.
