Dear Brother Label Printer

I always buy labeling machines for home and office. Without a doubt, Brother makes the best label printers. PROS: - Easy to find replacement label tape - QWERTY keyboard is comfortable, intuitive and easy to use - Various styles available CONS: - Battery always seems to die before I feel like I've actually used it that much. To mitigate this I used rechargeable eneloops.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Doesn't take a cable

I ordered this to replace my older older brother but the HUGE weakness of this model is that it doesn't need a cable. These devices are notorious for using far more batteries than you paid for the label printer itself. Another model shown here for the same price has the option to use a cord so I'll change it to this one. Rechargeable batteries tend to last longer if you completely remove them from the label maker after each use, but honestly that's too much work and cumbersome, which is why Iโ€ฆ

I like it but "low battery "

I wanted to try this to decorate my instax mini photos. Not a bit disappointed! It's great for the $11 I paid for it ("like new"). I'm thankful it came with all the options, like a manual (laughs) and a sample black and white label tape. This item was the "newest" used item I have ever purchased. And I'm frugal. Only 4 stars because the low battery warning appears to appear on all PTM95s. This is more of a threat and an annoying inconvenience than anything else, especially if you don't likeโ€ฆ

Machine also runs out with fresh batteries when printing

Product received, packaging opened, ribbon cassette and fresh batteries inserted and 3 labels printed. When I pressed print on label #4, the machine turned off. Read the "Troubleshootingโ€ section in the user manual. It details the exact problem along with recommendations for replacing the batteries with new ones and reseating the toner cartridge. I repeated both steps but the device still turned off when printing. After owning this unit for 20 minutes I repackaged it and sent it back to Revain.

Uncomfortable but compact; medium quality

I bought this on sale for ten points. Definitely not worth more! The use is quite impractical because of the small knobs. The print quality is just ok. Brother has machines of various resolutions, this is one of the cheapest but it doesn't matter as it's a commodity. Compared to older machines, there are some nice icons to decorate your labels with. The font selection is Pedestrian. However, changing the font to "BOLD" definitely changes readability. So you're really better off buying anotherโ€ฆ
