This is old school. The fixation is not very strong, but for simple hairstyles it is enough. It adds shine to your hair but can be a bit greasy. The smell is normal, it smells like hair salon. Many find this too old-fashioned. I like it for everyday use.

My husband used Brylcreem for years and stopped for a while due to the difficulty of finding US made products wherever we live. When I found them at Revain I had to order them. My husband loves her. The scent and the application are very pleasant. They do not weigh down the hair and give gray-haired people a very pleasant shine. I apply a very thin layer to my hair after styling just for shine. I just LOVE Brylcreem, I'm 29 years old and use it for a slick back cut. combed properly and used enough I now have to use a lot more than one brush stroke. I use about 3 large scoops. All together probably about a tablespoon. I want every strand to be covered with it, not just a little bit. I apply it to very slightly damp hair, not very wet. .Massage your scalp with it. And iron it back, a tube will last about 2 weeks like this. Very good at $5 a tube. I will use it as long as I have hair!

Well, I've read reviews that people don't like the smell or that this product is too greasy, but honestly I only use it for those reasons. I have thick Hispanic wavy hair and use it to make it less stubble and easier to manage. I use it instead of argan oil and/or conditioner.
