I previously ordered two other cheap copies from China only to find that I couldn't read the DVD files with Explorer or the drive started making crazy clicking noises (e.g. headbanging). I have returned every failed drive and bought this Buffalo drive. That works great! If you have the same problem, try this disc.

I've searched the internet and local electronics stores only to find that most portable DVD drives don't work with Windows 10. The most popular LG SP80NB60 had no drivers at the time of my purchase in September 2015 that would work with Windows 10. I found this information on the LG website support blogs. I had to look for an alternative when the optical drive in my 2011 iMac failed. It took a bit of effort to get the operating system to recognize the Buffalo Drive, but now it works for both reading and writing, at least for now as I've only been using it for about two months. I haven't tried M-DISC in it yet, but I plan to do so later. The mechanism is a bit filigree, but the functionality is great for the price.
