Description of 🚐 BUG-GUARD BG520B: American Designed RV 12V LED Flood Porch Light with Color Modes - Bright 220 Lumen Amber or 520 Lumen White Light

Please be sure the BG520B fits the available mounting area on the side wall of your RV. The fixture size is 7.875” x 4.5” with a hole pattern of 4.563” x 1.875”. There is an Adaptor Plate available for this fixture, Amazon ASIN B07TM161FN, that will allow mounting of this fixture without drilling any new holes and cover any un-painted areas exposed after old fixture has been removal. To Save more by purchasing the BG520B-A Bundle, includes the BG520B and the ADAPTOR-PL-B, Amazon ASIN B07D8GQW5Y. Please also note that the BG520 is a (NON-MOTION Detection fixture) ..........But it is rather a Functional AMBER/WHITE RV Outdoor LED Flood Porch light with Integrated long-life 220 lumen (Amber)/520 Lunen (White) LED Array (Equal to a 40-Watt Light Bulb) that is an affordable, energy saving multi-colored lighting solution. The Amp Draw on Battery with the array illuminated in Amber Mode is - 0.21 Amps (2.6 Watts) or White Flood Mode - 0.52 Amps (6.2 Watts). One of the most defining features of the BG520B is that it is EMI Suppressed so as not to affect your TV or Radio reception and has my newest version of the β€œPolarity Guard” program to ease the difficulty of the installation by correcting the Polarity in the RV automatically if needed. The BG520B Lens is molded from Clear UV Stabilized Polycarbonate Plastic and is fully gasketed to keep out moisture, dirt and bugs. Best of all this is an "AMERICAN" Designed and Patented Product, designed by GREGG WILSON ("USA" OEM Designer) in America for the modern American RV with highly sensitive electronics.

BEST DOUBLE light!

Glad I fitted them to my new trailer without headlights! The dual lighting function is even better. I work all night on bug mode for security and bugs. And a great yard light mounted on either side of the rig! GOOD PRODUCT!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Looks good, bright.

Nice street lamp for RV, bright and stylish. Exactly what my Sprinter needed. The only criticisms are that the mounting screws are pretty close to the board and the gasket doesn't hold when the cover is installed - you have to use a few drops of superglue etc to keep it in place.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expensive

Water gets into the on / off switch

Installed on my camper today. It was raining heavily and I was alarmed to see water in a closed switch. The light started acting like crazy, lighting itself up and not turning off when you press the button. It seems to be back to normal now that it dries up, but that can be a problem in the long run.

Pros
  • Excellent general characteristics
Cons
  • There are nuances

Best Customer Service

I bought this BG520B LED light for my 2005 Winnebago Adventure. It's a good idea to have both yellow and white light. The light is very bright and easy on the eye, providing enough light for the entire side of the motorhome. The lamp is very well made and backed by the best customer service. I had a light problem and called Greg at RV Led Lites. He is very efficient and understanding. He immediately sent me a new light. I am very confident in purchasing a product from RV Led Lites.

This is "good" and since it is mounted I will not remove it until it is out of service. Two problems. 1. The external switch is useless and should be removed as using the RV's internal switch goes from white to yellow so you now have an external switch for someone to turn off. Also this flashlight is not waterproof. I installed mine, the RVT attached the back to the wall, I took the advice and put a few drops of super glue on the lens gasket to hold it in place once the lens is installed…

Very good outdoor lamp for camping.

I took this to go camping with my Goal Zero Yeti 400 (the car was crowded). After attaching the wires I attached the plastic backing and then attached it to my tent with 3 badge magnets. The outside light of the tent, which can be either white or yellow, is great after dark. We mostly use yellow light and white light for cleaning. Much better than battery or gas lights if you have a big tent. The product itself is slightly brighter than a 40 watt incandescent lamp on a white background and…

Super bright great light!

Incredibly beautiful and super bright light! Love the two modes from amber to bright white that can be changed by simply toggling the porch light switch off and on. off/on yellow, off/on bright white again, awesome! In our case we replaced an old switchable porch light so we don't have to use the built in switch, but it's a nice addition to the light if you want to use it in a place where there isn't a switch. Sealed to keep bugs out of the lens cap. Installation took no more than 15 minutes. I
