Yes, that might happen if the buckle and clip installed in the wrong way. Pls refer to the 3rd picture and the 7th video as reference. ATTENTION: PLS MAKE THE BELT SNUG BEFORE USING. GREAT POOL SAFETY & LEARNING PRODUCT - Perfect for little swimmers who are afraid of swimming alone and just need the reassurance; With buckle Belt on back, which allows your children to go into deeper waters in the pool without you being right there. GREAT TRANSITION BUBBLE - Perfect way to ease transition to swimming without assistance. It was great to increase a swimming beginner's stamina and strength by slowly removing the floats. Freeing arms for proper motion, easily buckles on back. Cute but there are better options.

I bought this for a vacation where my daughter would have a pool. We have another version of this but I bought this one and ordered it to the destination. It kept her afloat, but it kept riding up and would end up almost under her arm pits when I snapped it at her belly.

Pros
  • Not sure if I missed it in the description but it does not have a lock clip.
Cons
  • Not good quality, my child went under water when strap broke.

Works great but read the reviews and instructions

We use 2 of the 4 pads for my son. It works great. Good thing the previous reviewers pointed out the belt clip being installed incorrectly. You would orient it correctly if removing pads. If you try to use it out of the box then it wouldn’t hold correctly.

Pros
  • Great for a two year learning to swim. Allows for freedom in pool while maintaining safety.
Cons
  • Flimsy. After one use, the straps tore into the foam making it useless.
